Fall of Indian Media:-
In 90’s people had zeal to watch the television. That time very few people had the television .As per my information a village had only a television and only one channel “Doordarshan”.It was a very famous television Channel in India in 90’s. That time only half an hour news was enough to know about what is happening in the country and internationally.
Media is working as an intermediary between common people and the political leaders . It helps us to know about the reality of a country. Media helps many people in getting justice, revealing the scams in the country, to exposing many leaders by string operations, giving knowledge around world.
Now in 2020 India has the second-largest newspaper market in the world, with daily newspapers reporting a combined circulation of over 240 million copies as of 2018. India has over 1,600 satellite channels (more than 400 are news channels) and is the biggest newspaper market in the world — over 100 million copies sold each day.
But among these 400 news channels have only these topics “Militant” for Islamic and Nexal terrorists, Protestors for “Muslim and Communist rioters and arsonists, war(between India and china, Pakistan), Bollywood, Drugs etc. are these main topic to discuss on these channels .
In Article 19 of the constitution gives us to freedom to speech our media work under this . By now media channels are in the race of TRP not in the race to tell/show true situation of the country. We can see all channels are work under the political leaders like they are pressurized by the political leaders to clear their images. They are repeating a news again and again and using very unprofessional words to make a news spicy. Now there is totally end of the professional journalism.
Now the common people are more prefer to the electrical media channels instead of the national news channels because there is the discussion of the true problems of the country with the proper data revealed by survey of the biggest institutions, magazines, NGOs etc. who are working on the ground levels.
On national media nobody going to discuss the issue of
- Unemployment
- Suicide by the farmer
- Many people are dying due to hunger
- Malnutrition, education
- Child health and education
- Increasing the no of rape cases
- Women security
- Women rights
- Equality rights(lower and upper caste, man and woman),
- Healthcare,
- Natural pandemic,
- Water problems,
- Pending justice
- Poor policies
- Fake News Menace
- Agrarian Catastrophe
- Dirty Politics etc.
